Japan Fact: Japan’s aggression and the atrocities it entailed in WWII are treated superficially in most schools. Even recent concessions to textbook reform in this area, like mention of the rape and sexual slavery of thousands of Korean and Chinese women, is under attack by the conservatives, who say these subjects should not be taught to young Japanese.
